5th Annual Black Fathers Rock! Awards Celebration

The Hamilton event space was the perfect setting for the 5th Annual Black Fathers Rock!, on June 19, 2022, an event honoring the Black patriarchs on Father's Day. The celebration was hosted by Ryan Jor El, founder of the Black Father's Rock Organization, and Tracy Stephens.

‍

The guests of honor were ten dads who were recognized for their dedication to being great fathers and demonstrating good character and integrity. These dads were an inspiration to all in attendance and it was a privilege to celebrate their achievements.

‍

The Black Fathers Rock! Organization is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting positive fatherhood, and they used this event as an opportunity to showcase their work. The night was filled with live performances, a 360 photo booth, and a DJ to keep the party going.

‍

One of the highlights of the night was the touching fatherhood stories shared by some of the attendees. It was a powerful moment that highlighted the importance of strong, positive father figures in our communities.

‍

Black Fathers Rock! (BFR!) is on a mission to change the negative narrative and dispel the myth that all black fathers are absent. This organization empowers black fathers with the resources they need to strengthen their families, promoting the importance of fatherhood through workshops, programming, and events tailored to their purpose. 

‍

BFR! has already made a significant impact on the community, inspiring youth to become strong citizens while continuing to encourage the conversation around the importance of fatherhood. BFR! takes pride in highlighting fathers in Charlotte, NC, who embody all the qualities of a present and active parent. As a result, the organization has seen fathers reconcile with their families and aims to achieve 1,000 similar success stories throughout its lifespan.
